Delayed Gratification issue #18 has gone to press and we’re very excited to share our latest cover with you.

Exploration of Gravity was painted by Mehdi Ghadyanloo, an Iranian artist who is well known in Tehran for his large-scale, colourful murals. “Painting walls in Tehran was a sort of mission to make people happy – the paintings were positive,” he told us. His works on canvas, including Exploration of Gravity, are more bitter and dark. “The horror and stress I paint in my personal works I think comes from my childhood. I grew up during the war between Iran and Iraq. My father and all of my friends’ fathers were duty soldiers on the frontlines,” he explains.
