Notes: "After the free-for-all cosmic freakorama of It Called Into My Hand, Honest the Fugs likely knew they probably couldn't top that album's unique sound so opted for something more stripped down and minimalistic by returning to their folky roots.

What we have here is some truly great poetic folk rock of the highest order with the band's three frontmen all showing their unique talent. Tuli Kupferberg's songs match his gravelly beatnik voice and stream of consciousness lyrics to Phil Ochs style protest folk while Ken Weaver channels Jim Morrison on the heavy rocking "Four Minutes to Twelve". Ed Sanders' freak folk storytelling on the marvellous title track presages anti-folk while even bringing to mind Tenacious D's acoustic skits. The album ending on "Children of the Dream" feels appropriately poignant for the last gasp of the 60s counterculture.

There's a genuine warmth and wisdom in these grooves that puts this album ahead of so much naive 60s psych. One of the decade's most unheralded records by far,"
